Exercise therapy is an important phase in recovering normal function, relieving symptoms and preventing future injury. Exercise therapy may involve the patient’s own body weight (mat exercises), free weights, theraband/elastic tubing, aerobic and universal strengthening equipment, medicine balls, exercise balls, foam rolls, Bosu, or other equipment. They are taught in a safe, guided manner to improve strength, flexibility, balance, proprioception, stabilization, posture and endurance. Emphasis is placed on quality of technique to ensure the proper muscles are isolated, so the patient is confident to continue the exercises independently. Besides WCB, ICBC, daily living and athletic related injuries, we are also very involved in pre and post-operative rehabilitation exercise therapy.
